Maria is the best. Top food for brunch, lunch and dinner. Serves all kind of coffee and drinks. Try the hand made fried cheese pies and vegetable pies - traditional Cretan recipe, hand made by her mother! You will be impressed. Also salty and sweet pancakes , burger and many more. Very good value for money.

A little slice of paradise with a big heart – Alos by the Sea in Kastri During our stay in Crete, we had the pleasure of discovering Alos by the Sea in Kastri – a beach bar and lounge that truly stole our hearts, not only for its stunning location but above all for the warm, genuine hospitality we received. From the very first moment, Maria – the owner – welcomed us with a radiant smile and an energy that instantly made us feel at home. Her kindness, charm, and openness turned a simple beach day into something truly memorable. And what a beach it is! The sea is crystal-clear, calm, and shimmering with shades of turquoise and deep blue. The sunbeds are comfortable and well spaced, the vibe is peaceful and authentic – far from the tourist crowds. A heartfelt thank you also goes to Costas, the waiter, always kind, attentive, and quick with a joke. He took care of us with effortless grace. And let’s not forget Georgia, the cook, who treated us to a variety of delicious homemade dishes – fresh, tasty, and full of Cretan soul. If you’re looking for a place where natural beauty, great food, and genuine hospitality come together in perfect harmony, Alos by the Sea is a must. A place that stays with you long after you’ve left – and one we hope to return to very soon.

The three of us sat down here without intending to eat anything. The atmosphere is fantastic. We just wanted to have a drink, but the service was so friendly that we ended up ordering the Pizza Speciale and two Alos burgers. The food was absolutely delicious and everything is homemade. A definite recommendation if you’re looking for something different from the traditional Greek cuisine.

Beautiful location, wonderful atmosphere, Maria and her family are lovely hosts, and Maria's homemade cakes are exceptionally good. The little treats are varied and of excellent quality.

It is a great place that can offer a wide range of delicious drinks, deserts and meals. We have tried many dishes, from traditional local pies and salads to burgers. Highly recommended!!!

Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff, relaxing setting on the sea front. Sunbeds are also a nice added feature. Great for evening drinks also. Came for morning coffee and sandwich, then also for evening cocktails. Very delicious.

Returned here 3 times during our stay in Kastri as the breakfast/lunch options were so lovely and tasty we wanted to try them all, and with very generous portions! Pricing is also very reasonable and drinks options are great, loved this cafe.
